Barracuda is one of the oldest established independent digital marketing agencies in London, and the very first UK agency to be officially accredited by Google. But more importantly, we’ve been achieving big results for our clients ever since our humble beginnings back in 2000. Our ethos is simple; deliver value to our clients, by understanding their business, the people involved, and looking for commercial opportunities across the search (and wider digital) landscape.
How do we do it? Well it all starts with our people. People like you.
We’re a small team of talented and knowledgeable folks, experienced with successful start-ups, charities, and enterprise-level business. We’re qualified in Analytics, Searchmetrics, and have the highest level of Google certification, plus we actually understand how to make campaigns work. We get the bigger picture and will find the solution and the most cost-effective way of achieving our clients’ goals. It’s not the size of the team that counts, it’s the people in it – and our guys are awesome.
Internally, we have a nurturing and supportive culture, with a fun and relaxed atmosphere in the office. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of business areas beyond your specific area of focus, where everybody’s ideas are welcomed and encouraged.
If you are looking for real responsibility and a place to hone your skills in a close-knit agency environment, then look no further than Barracuda.
Below is the kind of person we’re after, or looking to shape. At this level we realise you probably won’t be there yet, but you’ll be striving hard to become what is described below and you’ll be able to demonstrate progression/a strong desire to progress across this skill set:
Critical Thinking: You can evaluate a piece of work that you have responsibility for and appraise the approach vis a vis the client it is for. Could it be done better? Are there any nuances we should build in for this specific client that would really add value?
Strategic: You want to get to a point where you can take a client account right through from discussing business objectives, setting KPIs and then planning the work (service level agreement) according to budget over a 6 to 12-month period. You can/want to use effective communication tools to track/show/discuss progress both internally and with the client.
Commercial awareness: You can plan client activity based on a budget. You are able to look where the client is currently committing spend and how that could be reapportioned/raised for good effect. You can pick up overspend and its causes quickly.
Client Facing: You’re not just able to sit and present findings, you command an authoritative, yet collaborative presence in front of any given client. You put the strategy together and you lead the client; it takes a high level of communication skill to be able to educate, persuade, convince and get sign-off.
Fire: No shrinking wall-flowers please! We’re an energetic bunch at Barracuda and enjoy lively debate and pushing the quality of our work while innovating in our approach. You need to have opinions and be ready to discuss them. You’ll want to put your mark on the department and the agency. Bring it.
Ambition: Barracuda is building a centre of excellence in the work we do. We want to take on the best in digital marketing and, in return, can offer a genuine career path as we grow. But you have to want it. Hunger for client and personal success is a key attribute.
Intelligence: We will give you the best tools available on the market, one-on-one training, our time and a healthy injection of infectious confidence. You need to be able to take all that, mix it with your drive, attitude and grey matter to become more than the sum of those parts.
Getting things done: You’re one of those people who can be relied upon. You get the feeling people view you as a safe pair of hands for important work. You hate missing deadlines. You like side-projects.
If that sounds like where you want to be as a professional, then read on…
